Hi everyone!

Just to post an update on my personall testing of smoothwall & IPCop...And as always, there is the question as well. First of all, I hate smoothwall and you all know why - Not software related. As for the IPCop, it's great. Had no problem with any feature, except.....(HA!). VPN set without any problem from my home lab to the work. From work (my workstation) I'm able to ping & search my home network (5 workstations). But from home I can only access green on IPCop and one workstation at work (ping & gui)- My workstation only. My workstation at work is the only one that uses IPcop as a gateway. Is There any way to access other workstations - That aren't using ipcop as a gateway? Have I messed up something?

Thanks in advance

Hi Trbonja,

I experienced the same. ONLY workstations which are using the firewall's green adress as Gateway can be reached by the remote network. It just seems to be the normal way for a VPN to work behind a firewall.

Bye,
Denis
It seems to me just a matter of routing. Because your home network on the other side of the vpn tunnel is a remote network, the workstations at your work try to reach it via their default gateway. Now, if you modify the routing table on the workstations (under windows, with the 'route add' command) they will likely go out throu IPCop and will be able to see your home net. For example, if your home net is 192.168.10.0/24 and the IPCop IP address is 192.168.20.1, the command would be:

route add 192.168.10.0 MASK 255.255.255.0 192.168.20.1

I hope this will work
